Historia de la Restauración Institucionalizada en Valencia. Los restauradores municipales y sus intervenciones 1894-1941

[EN] The research presented allows to know a unpublished chapter of the history of restoration in the city of Valencia until now, contextualized from the late 19th century to about the first half of the 20th. Specifically, this investigation is about the labor of municipal restorers who intervened cultural heritage from the establishment in 1894 of the Commission of Monuments and Museums Municipal Archives. The performance of these restorers has been divided into two periods, the first stages would begin with the foundation of the committee referred from 1894 to 1905, while the second phases would begin in 1905 with the first appointment as municipal restaurateur tenured and conclude in 1941, because of the death of the last restorer we address in this study. To achieve this objective, a complete document review has been done in the Municipal Historical Archives, intending to locate and analyze any text on municipal restorers and their interventions in the works owned by the Town-hall. We have consistently established a chronological list of these officials, find art objects restored by them, the methods and materials used in these interventions, the valuation of their work, the functions executed, the attitude of the official institutions in defense of valencian heritage and they showed great interest recording the interventions made by these employees and affected the assets of the city. The elaboration of these documents by the authorities has been very beneficial to complete the history of the Restoration in Valencia.[ES] La investigación que se presenta permite conocer un capítulo hasta ahora inédito de la Historia de la Restauración en la ciudad de Valencia, contextualizado a partir del final del siglo XIX hasta aproximadamente la primera mitad del XX. Concretamente trata sobre el trabajo de los restauradores municipales que intervinieron bienes culturales a raíz de la constitución en el año 1894 de la Comisión de Monumentos, Archivos y Museos Municipales. La actuación de estos restauradores se ha dividido en dos etapas, la primera comenzaría con la creación de la mencionada comisión en 1894 y terminaría en 1905, mientras que la segunda se iniciaría en 1905 con el primer nombramiento como restaurador municipal con plaza fija y concluiría en el año 1941, debido al fallecimiento del último restaurador que abordamos en este estudio. Para conseguir este objetivo, se ha realizado un vaciado documental en el Archivo Histórico Municipal, con la intención de localizar y analizar cualquier texto sobre los restauradores municipales y sus intervenciones en obras propiedad del Ayuntamiento. Consecuentemente hemos conseguido establecer una relación cronológica del trabajo de estos funcionarios, averiguar los objetos artísticos que restauraron, los métodos y materiales utilizados en estas intervenciones, la valoración de los mismos acerca de su profesión, el tipo de funciones que llevaban a cabo, la actitud de las instituciones oficiales en defensa del patrimonio valenciano y el interés que demostraron en el registro de las acciones que realizaban dichos empleados y que por tanto afectaban a los bienes de la ciudad. La elaboración de esta documentación por parte de las autoridades, ha resultado muy beneficiosa para completar la Historia de la Restauración en Valencia.García Valenzuela, C. (2015).
