[EN] Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the Automatic Process Control (APC) are two control philosophies have evolved independently until recently. The overall objective of both APC and SPC is to optimize the performance of processes, reducing the variability of the resulting characteristics around the desired values. The fundamentals of the two disciplines arise from the idea that the whole process has operation variations. These variations may affect, to a greater or lesser extent, the final product quality and the process productivity.
