[EN] Nitric oxide (NO) regulates developmental and stress-related plant processes through still largely undefined mechanisms. To study the effect of deficient NO biosynthesis on genome-wide Arabidopsis thaliana transcriptome, the nia1nia2noa1-2 mutant plants, impaired in the nitrate reductase (NR/NIA)- and nitric oxide associated 1 (NOA1)-related NO biosynthesis, were compared to wild type plants by using microarray analyses. Gene Ontology (GO) analyses on differentially expressed genes pointed to altered biosynthesis and metabolism of phenylpropanoids and amino acid derivatives.
