[EN] Experiments with animals in free-roaming environments is a valuable tool for different kinds of research, like neuroscience. Being able to automatically locate the animals in such an environment eases data collection as well as allows interactive responses to them. In this masters’ thesis I’ve designed and implemented a modular system, easily expanded, able to locate an arbitrary number of experimental rats using radio waves in an easily configurable environment. In addition, I’ve studied the possibility of integrating a wireless power transfer system on it. To that effect I’ve made both a custom simulator and different partial prototypes which allowed the construction and characterization of a final prototype for a tracking module[ES]...
