REGIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE FISHING TOURISM IN SPAIN

[ES] El turismo pesquero está llamado a jugar un papel importante en el futuro de la pesca. Igualmente, aparece como una oportunidad para que los destinos turísticos de sol y playa puedan complementar su oferta. Sin embargo, a pesar que se ha producido un avance importante en los últimos años, todavía existe cierta resistencia a la normal implantación de esta actividad. Buena parte de los problemas surgen por una legislación restrictiva y, en ocasiones, contradictoria. Es por ello que el desarrollo del turismo pesquero en España es escaso e irregular si lo comparamos con otros países mediterráneos. En nuestro país, tan solo unas pocas regiones han avanzado recientemente en esta materia, mientras que en otras regiones costeras la legislación o las experiencias en esta materia son casi inexistentes. En este trabajo nos planteamos analizar algunas de estas experiencias, así como la legislación que ha surgido en los últimos años. El objetivo es detectar las principales barreras que impiden el despegue definitivo de una actividad llamada a desempeñar un papel clave en la futura sostenibilidad social, económica y ambiental de la pesca.[EN] The fishing tourism is called to play an important role in the future of fishing. It also appears as an opportunity for the sun and beach destinations to complement its offer. However, although there has been significant progress in recent years, there is still some resistance to the normal implementation of this activity. Many of the problems arise from restrictive and contradictory legislation. That could explain why the development of fishing tourism in Spain is scarce and irregular when it's compared to other Mediterranean countries. In our country, only a few regions have recently made progress in this matter, whereas in other coastal regions legislation or experience in this area are almost nonexistent. In this study we aimed to analyze some of these experiences, as well as legislation that has emerged in recent years.
