[EN] Drivers are the most important factor in traffic operation and road safety. However, study of drivers’ behavior is complicated because of their characteristics. The best results in this area have been achieved by using methodologies based on naturalistic observation. Highway Engineering Research Group of Universitat Politècnica de València has developed a new methodology for getting naturalistic data related to drivers’ behavior. It is based on the combination of GPS tracker devices and drivers’ surveys. This way, this low cost methodology provides individual continuous speed data profiles, drivers’ sociologic data, travel data and vehicle data.
