This book describes a DFID funded project researching the meaning of education for the the inhabitants of a rural village in Ghana. The approach involved an innovative form of collaborative ethnography with fieldwork taking place over 15 months. During this period villagers had their first opportunity to interact with digital media and so the possibilities afforded by ICTs for education could be appraised. Findings about rural education and the nature of community participation have important implications for educational policy and practice.
