It is known that much of the oil is trapped in reservoirs after use of conventional methods for oil extraction. However, several methods have been introduced to increase the recovery of this oil, one of them is through the alteration of the wettability. Methods suggested for this purpose include the use of chemical additives such as surfactants. In this work it was evaluated the technical feasibility of using a natural surfactant to alter the wettability of a system Oil/Water/SiO2, by measuring contact angles. The results show the feasibility of using natural surfactant alterative of wettability for mineral surfaces having different wet conditions (water -wet, intermediate or oil)
