Ammonia-oxidizingarchaea (AOA) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) play an important role innitrogen transformation in freshwater sediments. However, it is still unclear towhat extent the distribution patterns of these microorganisms are affected bythe freshwater sediment across a large geographical scale.
