International audienceSixteen years of ozone measurements (1992-2006) at Reunion Island (21°S, 55.5°E) have been processed to detect stratospheric signatures on each single ozone profile. The characterisation method consists in the advection of the potential vorticity (PV) over two to ten days of backtrajectory with the lagrangian trajectory code LACYTRAJ. LACYTRAJ is a Trajectory-Reverse Domain Filling code using the ERA40 ECMWF database and allowing the reconstruction of high resolution advected PV profiles. Correlation between high values of ozone mixing ratio and high PV is interpreted as a stratospheric signature.
