ObjectivePhysical activity for all is a current public health issue. The purpose of this study is to understand which factors come into play in the decision to continue or not to pursue a sport activity during pregnancy.MethodsThis is a qualitative methodology study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with postpartum women. The interviews were recorded, transcribed and their contents then analysed. The study ran from June 13, 2017 to January 24, 2018.Results and conclusionGiving up sport activity was linked to the presence of asthenia or nausea in early pregnancy, beliefs about fetal risks due to sport practice and personal and environmental constraints.
