INSPECTION OF RISK LEVEL USING JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSA) METHOD IN CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP, THE CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, UNP PADANG

There is a sentence saying 'occupational safety and health (K3) must not be absent because danger always exists' in the workplace. Dangers are produced by hazards that potentially cause accidents in there. The hazards derive from raw materials, products, waste, work tools and processes. In an effort to control the risk of the accidents, it is necessary to apply K3 principle.  In construction workshops, at The Civil Engineering Department, UNP, the principle was not applied properly, so a research should be conducted to see the issue, focused on the hazards in there. The research had a purpose verifying the risk on low, medium and small level. To reach the purpose, the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method was used to determine the level, beginning from collecting the required data, such as secondary and primary. The secondary was work and tools types document while the primary obtained from the survey and direct interviews with the technicians. Then, the work types were elaborated on their steps. They resulted in many different levels of risk. Based on the results, 5 work type showed high level and 6 work type was medium level. In conclusion, 11 of them was on the level that must be paid attention.&nbsp
