In this paper we analyse how, in a school context with many adversities, partnerships and pacts between teachers and students are constructed in order to respond to the institutional objectives of the school. We interrogate what kind of engagements are possible for a teacher and a group of students in order for them to change the conditions of apathy and inertia of the school routine which lets down their expectations and leads them to an adapt to a situation which seems hopeless. We propose to think about the mediation of transmission as a dispositif to reinvent social ties between teachers and pupils.
