ABSTRACT DESCRIPTION OF FAMILY FUNCTION IN HIV/AIDS PATIENTS IN DR.M.DJAMIL PADANG HOSPITAL By Mai Ismil Husni Tasyriqiyyah Family is the basic care for each patient with chronic illness. Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is one of the chronic illness that continues to be a major global public health issue in this era. In its clinical course, people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) tend to face complex problems ranging from physical, mental and social issues such as stigma and discrimination that are prone to cause problems in the treatment process and life quality. The presence of family members infected with HIV/AIDS will impact other family members resulting changes in family relationships. Therefore, family resilience is needed in dealing with PLWHA. In carrying out these functions, the family can be divided into functional, moderately dysfunctional and severely dysfunctional family. This research was conducted at the Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) polyclinic of Dr.M.Djamil Padang Hospital from August to September 2019. The purpose was to determine the description of family function in HIV/AIDS patients. The type of research is descriptive with cross-sectional design. Sampling was done by consecutive sampling technique with a total of 52 people. Data were collected by interviews guided by the APGAR family questionnaire. The results showed that most respondents had highly functional families (53.8%), followed by moderately dysfunctional families (32.7%) and severely disfunctional families (13.5%) with the most often APGAR component is adaptation (69.2%) and affection (69.2%)while the rarely one is resolve (42.3%). The conclusion of this study is the majority of PLWHA still have functional families to support them. Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) merupakan salah satu penyakit kronik yang menjadi masalah kesehatan global pada saat ini. Dalam perjalanan klinisnya, orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) cenderung menghadapi permasalahan yang kompleks mulai dari fisik, mental dan sosial seperti stigma dan diskriminasi yang rentan menyebabkan masalah pada proses pengobatan dan kualitas hidup. Adanya anggota keluarga yang terinfeksi HIV/AIDS akan berdampak pada anggota keluarga lainnya sehingga terjadi perubahan dalam hubungan keluarga. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan ketahanan keluarga dalam menghadapi ODHA. Dalam menjalankan fungsinya tersebut, keluarga dapat dibagi atas keluarga yang fungsional, disfungsional moderat dan disfungsional berat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di poliklinik Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) RSUP Dr.M.Djamil Padang dari bulan Agustus hingga September 2019. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran fungsi keluarga pada pasien HIV/AIDS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan disain cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik consecutive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 52 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara yang dipandu kuesioner APGAR keluarga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden mempunyai keluarga yang fungsional (53.8%), diikuti dengan keluarga disfungsional moderat (32.7%) dan keluarga disfungsional berat (13.5%) dengan komponen APGAR yang paling sering adalah adaptasi (69.2%) dan afeksi (69.2%) sedangkan yang paling jarang adalah kebersamaan (42.3%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah mayoritas ODHA masih memiliki keluarga yang fungsional untuk mendukung mereka. Kata kunci : HIV/AIDS, ODHA, Fungsi Keluarga (APGAR
