In the article i made an attempt to show the essence of participation in musical culture and its place in education. In theoretical reflections i made a reference to the ideas included in pedagogical and sociological literature, dealing with the basics of social coexistence and cooperation. Using the examples taken from the history, but also from pedagogical practice,i showed the role of making music in bands in the education in the past and i drew attention to contemporary possibilities of using this form of activity in building social ties.
