Aim. Ascitic fluid infection (AFI) consists primarily of two variants, namely, culture-negative neutrocytic ascites and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP). We aimed to analyse whether platelet size alterations would be useful in predicting AFI in cirrhotic patients. Material and methods.
