O instituto do Júri, instituição democrática e de origem incerta, alimenta grande debate e controvérsia no meio jurídico brasileiro, a possibilidade de empossar o cidadão comum na responsabilidade pelo julgamento do acusado, cria um ambiente de grande repercussão e furor na sociedade, com isto o objetivo deste estudo é analisar a influência dos diversos meios de comunicação nas decisões do júri, especificamente da possibilidade de que a veiculação descontrolada das manchetes e notícias, influencie o convencimento e imparcialidade do conselho de sentença. De natureza comparativa, o estudo ressalta opiniões a favor e contra o procedimento processual do Tribunal do Júri. Nota-se que a sociedade tem especial interesse por notícias de crimes contra a vida, os veículos de comunicação bem sabem disto, dando ampla e total cobertura as notícias desta natureza, o excesso de exposição dos acusados e a visão quase sempre unilateral, criam um ambiente propicio a condenação moral antecipada do acusado, a exposição desmoderada e descontrolada cominam em prejudicar a imparcialidade entre defesa e acusação no plenário, afeta a presunção de inocência e induz os jurados a estabelecer sentença condenatória em desfavor do réu
