Révision du taxon Parapalpares latipennis (Rambur, 1842) et description d’une espèce nouvelle d’Angola (Neuroptera, Myrmeleontidae, Palparinae)

Revision of the taxon Parapalpares latipennis (Rambur, 1842) with the description of a new species from Angola (Neuroptera, Myrmeleontidae, Palparinae). The distribution of Parapalpares latipennis (Rambur, 1842) has been considered so far as pan-African, ranging from Senegal to Mozambique. A review of specimens deposited in several public collections shows that only those originating in West African savannahs are conspecific with Rambur’s type. Specimens from other parts of Africa (Congo Basin, Gabon, Angola and Mozambique) cannot be assigned to this taxon. The synonymy between Palpares latipennis and P. praetor Gerstaecker, 1894, is revoked and the species rehabilitated under the new combination Parapalpares praetor (Gerstaecker, 1894), n. comb., with designation of a lectotype. A new species is described from Angola, Parapalpares dalmeidarum n. sp.Parapalpares latipennis (Rambur, 1842) a jusqu’ici été considéré comme une espèce panafricaine répartie du Sénégal au Mozambique. La révision de plusieurs collections publiques montre que seuls les spécimens des savanes sèches d’Afrique occidentale appartiennent au même taxon que le type de Rambur. Les spécimens provenant d’autres régions d’Afrique (bassin du Congo, Gabon, Angola et Mozambique) ne peuvent pas lui être rapportés. La synonymie entre Palpares latipennis et P. praetor Gerstaecker, 1894, est révoquée et l’espèce réhabilitée sous la forme de la combinaison nouvelle Parapalpares praetor (Gerstaecker, 1894), n. comb., avec désignation d’un lectotype. Une espèce nouvelle, Parapalpares dalmeidarum n. sp., est décrite d’Angola.Prost André.
