This thesis is devoted to study the large time asymptotic behaviour and hypocoercivity of evolution PDEs. We prove that for Nernst-Planck equation and in several cases of flocking model, there exist optimal exponential rates of convergence to station- ary solutions for large time, and the rates are determined by spectral gap of the linearized problem around the stable solutions. Moreover, for the flocking model, we prove that there exists a threshold value that drives phase transition and classify all station- ary solutions and the linear stability properties.
