Aceptación de la vacuna antigripal en niños diagnosticadas de asma.

Curs acadèmic: 2018/2019.OBJECTIVES: Despite the recommendations provided by different scientific communities, influenza vaccination rates have continued to fall. The main objective of this study is to establish whether there is any connection between the level of vaccination and the source of the information (the Health Service or the media) which parents resort to for information about the influenza vaccination in order to decide whether to vaccinate their children or not. METHOD: We conducted an observational case-control study of children between the ages of 6 months and 14 years who had been diagnosed with asthma at the Illes Columbretes Health Center. Once the telephone surveys had been performed and relevant data had been obtained, the children were divided into two groups: the vaccinated children comprised the case group and the non-vaccinated ones comprised the control group. We have evaluated the source of information and its association with the vaccination status. RESULTS: Having applied the Chi-squared test and Odds Ratio, we can ascertain that there is a significant statistical association between receiving the information from the Heath Service and the decision to vaccinate one’s child. However, there is no data to suggest that there is any link between receiving the information from the media and the positive state of immunization. CONCLUSION: In our study population we have seen if parents receive information about the influenza vaccine from the Health Service, they are more likely to vaccinate their children.OBJETIVO: A pesar de las recomendaciones de diversas sociedades científicas las tasas de vacunación frente a la gripe, siguen siendo bajas. El principal objetivo de este trabajo es averiguar si existe asociación entre el estado de vacunación y la fuente de información (Sistema Sanitario o medios de comunicación) a la que recurren los padres para informarse sobre la vacuna frente a la gripe para posteriormente tomar la decisión de vacunar a sus hijos o no. MÉTODO: Hemos realizado un estudio observacional de casos y controles. Para obtener la información hemos pasado encuestas vía telefónica a los padres de los niños entre 6 meses y 14 años diagnosticados de asma adscritos al Centro de Salud Illes Columbretes. El grupo de niños vacunados ha constituido el grupo de los casos, siendo el grupo control los niños no vacunados. Hemos evaluado la fuente de información y su asociación con el estado de vacunación. RESULTADOS: Para estudiar la asociación entre las variables estudiadas hemos aplicado el análisis de Chi-cuadrado y Odds Ratio, encontrando asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la información desde Sistema Sanitario y el estado positivo de inmunización. Sin embargo, no encontramos dicha asociación entre la información procedente de medios de comunicación y el estado positivo de vacunación. CONCLUSIÓN: En la muestra de población estudiada hemos podido observar que si los padres reciben información sobre la vacuna de la gripe desde el Sistema Sanitario aumentan las probabilidades de vacunar a sus hijos
