International audienceThe ninth level of the Queroy's cave at Chazelles (Charente) has yielded an Artenacian sepulchral deposit with abundant fine wares. The typological and technological study of those artefacts enables us to gain a better understanding of its major characteristics. A reconstitution of the way the remains were deposited gives indications about the primary organization of the deposit. The existence of another Artenacian sepulchral level, stratigraphically situated just above level 9, and its comparison with other regional sites, enable us to propose a basis for a chronological sequence in the Artenacian. Beyond the regional borders, some links appear with other cultures, especially in the South of France.La grotte du Quéroy...
