Se elaboró un mapa de susceptibilidad a deslizamientos de tierra del distrito de San Miguelito (Panamá), mediante el análisis yvalidación de un modelo estadístico bivariable, incorporando herramientas del Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG). Como datos de entradase utilizaron un mapa inventario de deslizamientos y los mapas de parámetros. Para este propósito, se inició definiendo los conceptos de gestión deriesgo y la relación correspondiente con los parámetros que influyen en la inestabilidad de laderas, los cuales en materia de susceptibilidad seconfeccionaron los mapas de elevación, pendiente, curvatura y orientación del terreno; mapas de proximidad a carreteras y ríos, mapa geotécnicode San Miguelito.
