The bachelor thesis Snake in the Czech Worldview is an ethnolinguistic study, which is based on the concepts and methodology of the Slavic cultural linguistics, of which principles are introduced in the first chapter of the thesis. Zoological point of view on a snake and its position in the world mythology are introduced before the thesis explores the word snake in the Czech ethymological and monolingual interpretative dictionaries. The most signifiant part of the thesis is focused on the many forms and shapes that a snake aquires in the Czech traditional and also modern folklore.
