State of the British and French Colonies in North America

"State of the British and French Colonies in North America: with respect to number of people, forces, forts, Indians, trade and other advantages" in two letters to a friend, is an early account of British and French conflicts in the Ohio Country. Printed in London in 1755, before the United States had been created, the book begins with a section titled, "Importance of the Ohio country." It goes on to assert British claims on the territory and disprove French allegations that the Ohio was part of the Louisiana territory.
