Promotional sales leaflet produced for Ohio farmer and novelist Louis Bromfield's celebrated Malabar Farm in Lucas, Ohio. The 640-acre farm and collection of buildings and outbuildings went on the public market after Bromfield's death in 1956. Here, Malabar Farm is advertised for sale for a mortgage of $10,000 by the National Real Estate Clearing House of New York City. The Friends of the Land organization was eventually able to purchase the farm. The Friends of the Land Collection (1930-1960) contains the papers of the Friends of the Land (1940-1959), a prominent national soil conservation education organization headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
