Grant and Wilson campaign broadside

Colored broadside depicting Ulysses S. Grant, the Republican candidate for president, and Henry Wilson, the Republican candidate for vice president, during the election of 1872. After his first term as president (1868-1872), the incumbent Grant won the 1872 election easily with fifty-six percent of the popular vote. Wilson had replaced former vice president Schuyler Colfax, a controversial figure involved with the Crédit Mobilier of America scandal during his vice presidency
