Since the 2010 Patent Protection and Affordable Care Act is so young, very little is known about the effects that the policies that it will put in place will have on our nation\u27s health care system moving forward. Recent releases by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention allow for a thorough analysis of one of the first policies, the adult dependent coverage policy for people under the ages of 26, put into place by this piece of legislation in 2011. The economic models run in this paper look at the strengths and the weaknesses of this policy in its first year of implementation.
