This stereograph shows women protesting the sale of alcohol in front of the J. Rogers saloon on Ward's Block in Mount Vernon, Ohio, as part of the Temperance Movement. In February, 1874, temperance protesters prompted twenty-three out thirty-two saloons in Mount Vernon shut down after twelve days of protests
