Joseph Dana Webster

Joseph Dana Webster was born in Hampton, New Hampshire on April 25, 1811. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1832. He joined the Army in 1838 and served in the Mexican-American War. He resigned in 1854. After the American Civil War broke out, he went back in to service for the Union where he became a brevet Major General of Volunteers. He died on March 12, 1876 in Chicago, Illinois
