Long, narrow, cut and polished left mandible fragment is from a wolf. It likely belongs with item A 3490/000015.001 as a pair. There are eight teeth in the jaw: one canine (broken) and seven molars. The bottom portion has been cut to expose the roots. The lingual side has been cut below the canine so that item is straight. There is some cutting at the ramus. Sockets for two incisors are present but the teeth are missing. The bone is yellow, dark grayish brown and white in color. Item was excavated from the Clyde Jones Mound in Madison Township, Licking County, Ohio
