Abstract

Coal picking conveyor operating in Welch, West Virginia, March 10, 1912. The conveyor was made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company, Columbus, Ohio. The miners are removing shale and other waste material from the coal. The conveyor moves the coal to waiting railroad coal cars below this building, called a coal tipple
