Union Cemetery, located at 1720 West Market Street, during the 1930s comprised 121 acres of land, much of it still covered with timber. Among those buried here are three of the 'Fighting McCooks' of Civil War fame: General Anson McCook, Colonel George McCook and Captain Francis McCook, grandfather of Woodrow Wilson; and the Edwin M. Stanton family
