There is no indication as to the identity of Mr Blanchard, but most likely he was an abolitionist. Wales further reports that fields are now green and beautiful, that recent rains have made a good supply of Fall feed. He reports that fever is prevalent in the area and various therapies including hydropathy and homeopathy have proved ineffective against it. He reiterates that money remains scarce.
