Hannah Fisher writes that a recent letter written jointly by Charity and Thomas Rotch arrived in tattered condition, the edges wet and in bad repair. She notes that her sister had probably heard of the death of a friend by way of the Boston paper which suggests that newspapers from Boston and New Bedford were arriving in the Kendal post office that was established by Thomas Rotch in 1813. Charity Rotch was apparently very ill intermittently in 1815 and Hannah reminds Thomas Rotch that his original objective in removing to Ohio country in 1811 was for the betterment of Charity's frail health. There is mention of minister Elias Hicks , 'our beloved Friend,' which suggests that the Rotches were early Hicksites. 8"x 9.45" (20.2 by 24 cm
