This study examines the impact of a visual representation of a secure base (i.e. a secure base prime) on attenuating experimentally produced anger and anxiety. A reduced version of the 43 item Affect Adjective Checklist (AAC) scale (Russell & Mehrabian, 1974, 1977) was used to assess the emotional responses of the participants. The secure base prime (SBP) represented the experimental condition while the others represented the control groups
