China (2006): HIV/AIDS TRaC Study Examining Condom Use among Female Sex Workers in Mengzi, Yunnan Province. Second Round.

Tracking surveys serve as tools to inform programming by routinely collecting data from cross-sections of populations at risk for HIV/AIDS and other adverse health outcomes. This survey among female sex workers (FSW) aimed to: 1) identify and describe segments of FSW in terms of consistent condom use with commercial partners, and condom use with regular partners; 2) gain an understanding of opportunity, ability and motivational factors that related to HIV risk behaviour; 3) monitor key determinants of behaviour and logframe indicators over time; 4) measure change in key indicators and promoted behaviors in relation to exposure to PSI/China activities; and 5) use study data to improve an ongoing social marketing and behavior change communication campaign for HIV/AIDS risk reduction among FSW.Cluster sampling of hotspots was used to collect data among 495 FSW in Mengzi in November and December 2006.
