Aggregate production planning is concerned with the determination of production, inventory, and work force levels to meet fluctuating demand requirements over a planning horizon that ranges from six months to one year. An aggregate planning model based on linear programming is developed here. In our paper we mainly focus on experimenting with workforce. We mainly follow changing three criteria of workforce such as fixed workforce, changing workforce and the combination of fixed and changing workforce. Using these three criteria the total cost of production of a cable industry is reduced. The percentage of cost reduction is different in these criteria’s.
