This study replicated an analysis of survey data from five sub-Saharan African countries, investigating the link between education and HIV status. The data were collected through Demographic and Health Surveys, large standardized population-based cluster surveys conducted in many developing countries. This study draws data from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania collected during the years 2003-2004: Burkina Faso: Standard DHS, 2003; Cameroon: Standard DHS, 2004; Ghana: Standard DHS, 2003; Kenya: Standard DHS, 2003; Tanzania: Standard AIS, 2003-04.
