Users can view tables and maps to gather data on oral health in the United States. Background The National Oral Health Surveillance System is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Oral Health. The purpose of NOHSS is to monitor oral health and to track oral health indicators on a state and national level. Oral health indicators include: dental visits, teeth cleaning, complete tooth loss, lost 6 or more teeth, fluoridation status, cancer of the oral cavity, caries experiences, untreated tooth decay, and dental sealants.
