This 2008 MAP (Measuring Access and Performance) study allows programmers to assess condom availability and accessibility using pre-defined criteria for measuring coverage and the quality of that coverage. The aim is to improve the efficiency of social marketing product and service delivery systems by providing feedback to programmers. In 2006, SFH conducted a similar MAP study on condom availability in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The goal of the study was to determine coverage, quality of coverage and access to Lovers Plus and Trust condoms amongst the general population and residents in High Transmission Areas (HTAs) for HIV.
