Agriculture and natural resources contribute the largest share of the economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda and Uganda. Agriculture contributes 42%, 40% and 24% of the GDP in DRC, Rwanda and Uganda respectively. The three countries are home to the largest tropical forests in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). DRC alone accounts for 34% of the carbon stock in Africa, the largest contribution in Africa. Additionally, in each country, a large share of the population depends on agriculture and other natural resources.
