This is a replication study for 'Federalism and American Inequality' paper by Kelly and Witko, which looks at inequality in the United States, measuring changes in household Gini coefficient in the period between 1976 and 2006. The key finding is that state level politics become more important when political power in national government shifts towards upper classes. The results are replicated using R statistical software
