INTRODUCTION. Obesity rises the risk of breast cancer, especially among postmenopausal women. No clear relationship between breast cancer and fatty tissue distribution has been proven. The purpose of study is to estimate the level of overall fatness and fatty tissue distribution in women after mastectomy. MATERIAL AND METHODS. The study was conducted in 74 women after mastectomy aged 47-80,5 (61,61 ± 9,32) yrs. The comparison group consisted of 76 women participants of the „University of Third Age” in Wrocław, aged 57-88 (68,41 ± 6,70) yrs.
