Sexual dysfunction — approach based on cognitive theory

Celem poniższego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie poznawczego modelu dysfunkcji seksualnych będącego opisem mechanizmu podtrzymującego problem seksualny i wpływającego na trwałość zaburzeń. Autorka dokonuje przeglądu klasycznych koncepcji teoretycznych dotyczących dysfunkcji seksualnych, jak również rezultatów prowadzonych obecnie badań i, czerpiąc z nich, prezentuje autorski zintegrowany model. Dodatkowo, z powodu wysokiej sterogenności sytuacji trudnych w kontekście seksualnym, autorka proponuje uzupełnienie poznawczego modelu dysfunkcji seksualnych o czynnik oceny stresu z wykorzystaniem interakcyjnego modelu radzenia sobie ze stresem autorstwa K. Wrześniewskiego.The aim of this article is to present a cognitive model of sexual dysfunction which serves as a description of a mechanism that sustains a sexual problem and influences its durability. The author conducts an overview of classic theoretical concepts regarding sexual dysfunctions and the results of current research in the field. Drawing from the data, the author formulates an innovative integrated model and proposes complementing the sexual dysfunction cognitive model with the stress self-evaluation factor by utilizing the stress self-coping interactive model developed by Wrzesniewski
