Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a disease that affects the fun ctioning of the whole body. The most important consequence of OSA, is its connection with cardiovascular risks, especially the risk of hypertension and its adverse complications. The coexistence of OSA in a patient with hypertension makes it difficult to achieve the target pressure, and forces a modification of treatment. When choosing an antihypertensive agent, beneficial in patients with OSA, we should prefer molecules that besides efficiency are also characterized by the ability to reduce cardiovascular risk.
