We present a case of a right sided accessory head of the pectoralis major muscle located inferior to its abdominal head. This variation was found during a routine anatomy dissection at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. The muscle fibres of the accessory head of the pectoralis major muscle arose from those of the serratus anterior muscle and travelled superolaterally towards the axilla. The accessory muscle terminated by fusing with the tendinous fibres of the pectoralis major muscle as they underwent their normal anatomical rotation before insertion upon the lateral lip of the bicipital groove of the humerus. Although variations in the pectoral muscles are not uncommon, this case appears to be unique in the litera...
Abstract Certain surgical treatment failures of the brachial plexus lesions are due to the presence ...
During routine dissection studies, we encountered an aberrant muscle in the neck region of a 50 year...
PURPOSE: The pectoralis minor muscle (PMi) generally originates from the third, fourth, and fifth ri...

In this case report, we observed a situation in which three variant muscles presented unilaterally i...
During a routine anatomical dissection we discovered an aberrant muscle slip associated with the pec...
Variations in the nerves of pectoral region are rare. We observed duplication of medial and lateral ...
The authors describe a rare unilateral muscle variation in the thoracic wall combining the pectorali...
There is a need to record and discuss unusual anatomical variants with the advent of complex diagnos...
We report on a unique combination of multiple variations concerning the pectoral muscles and the lef...
Accessory thoracic muscles in humans are relatively common and it is importantto draw awareness to t...
Pectoral region is known to show the presence of accessory muscles. Functionally these muscles are r...
Although anatomical variations in the upper limb are frequent, coexistence of multiple combined vari...
Pectoral muscles are important muscles in the anterior chest wall, and they have a key role in the a...
SUMMARY: The anatomical variation of the major pectoral muscles is infrequent, namely the agenesis o...
