This paper presents a three-step method for designing steel plate composite (SC) walls subjected to missile impact. This method can be used to compute the minimum required steel plate thickness for SC walls to prevent perforation due to missile impact. The design method was verified using the complete experimental database of 130 SC wall missile impact tests compiled as part of this research. The design method compares favorably with the observations and results from the experimental database and can be used within its range of applicability to design SC walls to prevent missile perforation.
