Preoperative systemic treatment proved benefit in treatment of locally advanced breast cancer, yet no regimen is recommended as treatment of choice. No clinical benefit was found for neoadjuvant versus adjuvant setting in terms of progression-free and overall survival for operable breast cancer. The only benefit is a possibility of breast conserving treatment, but multidisciplinary approach is mandatory in these cases.
