The Development of Chinese Glass Buildings

This paper introduces the development of Chinese glass building, discusses theproblems in the development, and forecasts the future of glass building in China.There is a short but leap-forward development of Chinese glass buildings. Thepaper, which uses the methodology of history research, takes Beijing as an exampleto research the development of Chinese glass buildings. It divides the developmentinto three stages: function stage, aesthetic stage, technology stage, and describeseach stage with practical examples. It supports an objective analysis of thedevelopment with the context of culture, economy, society’s status and technology.Finally, the paper concludes the opportunities and challenges in current China, andproposes that the future of Chinese glass building is integrated design
