Soil impacted by 85000 ppm of waste residual oil (WRO), mixture of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, and a concentration that according to NOM-138-SEMARNAT/SSA1-2003 (NOM-138) exceeds the maximum limit of 4400 ppm,consequently, any higher value inhibits mineralization of organic matter and causes loss of soil fertility. An alternativesolution for this problem may be biostimulation (BIS) and phytoremediation (PHYTO) that reduce the WRO to a valuelower than the maximum established for this nom.
